Synopsis

Ryou Machiko, a middle school student, adheres to her late grandmother's teaching that proficiency in cooking is fundamental to becoming a good wife. Despite her considerable culinary talents, Ryou recently observes that her dishes, while visually appealing and aromatic, no longer possess their former delightful taste. This decline leaves the art student feeling disheartened and contemplating a future of solitude. Unexpectedly, her aunt informs her that Kirin Morino, Ryou's second cousin, will begin staying with her every weekend. Kirin is attending a cram school in Tokyo, aiming to gain admission to Ryou's school. With her cousin's presence, Ryou discovers a significant improvement in her cooking's flavor. She realizes that the true enhancement of taste originates not from her individual kitchen skills, but from the communal experience of sharing meals with those close to her.
