Synopsis

Tagami Yuu sets out to find Austral Island, a land erased from official maps nearly 2,000 km south of Samoa. He travels accompanied by Dr. Waive, a longtime associate of his late father; Doris, Dr. Waive’s daughter; and the Captain, another friend of Dr. Waive. During their voyage they are intercepted by hostile forces: the multinational firm GAIL and a criminal syndicate known as Cougar Connection under Lady Lynx. Despite these assaults they reach the island, which soon comes under attack by a strange, violent creature. At the brink of disaster, a towering blue robot appears and destroys the beast, rescuing the group. Though its nature is beyond ordinary understanding, the giant evokes a sense of warmth and recognition in Yuu. The islanders refer to this robot as Giant Gorg, or the “Messenger of the God.” Fleeing further attacks by GAIL’s strike team, Gorg leads Yuu into subterranean depths where he discovers remnants of extraterrestrial origin and an alien being that awakens after a thirty-millennia slumber.
