Gauche, a dedicated professional cellist, is reprimanded during rehearsal because his performance lacks proper timing and emotional connection. Returning to his isolated cottage, he resumes intense practice. A visiting cat initiates a series of encounters in which local animals reveal musical lessons: a cuckoo demonstrates the value of disciplined practice, a badger teaches rhythmic precision, and a mouse conveys gentleness of touch. Across four days, these interactions guide Gauche to grasp the inner expression of music and grow into a more accomplished musician.
