Synopsis

Set in 5053 on the lunar city of Luna, two French aristocrats—Viscount Albert de Morcerf and Baron Franz d'Epinay—attend the Carnival. Franz seeks pleasure and diversion, while Albert searches for a deeper purpose. During an opera, Albert encounters a charismatic, self-made noble known as the Count of Monte Cristo. Their meeting draws the Count into Albert’s social circle and French high society. Beneath the Count’s refined exterior, however, lies a long-harbored plan: he intends to carry out retribution against those who betrayed him in the past. The narrative follows Albert and the Count as their lives become increasingly entwined, tracking the moral and emotional costs that accompany the Count’s pursuit of vengeance.
