Synopsis

Perched above a coastal harbor, Coquelicot Manor is a family-operated boarding house where Umi Matsuzaki balances household responsibilities and high school life. As she prepares meals and tends to boarders, her school faces a conflict: plans for redevelopment tied to the coming Olympic Games threaten a long-standing clubhouse. Students unite to oppose its demolition, and Umi aids the newspaper club in informing the community about their campaign. Through this effort she becomes close to Shun Kazama, a reserved orphan with little knowledge of his background. Their developing relationship leads them to investigate Shun’s origins, and in the process they uncover unexpected connections between their lives. The story maintains a reflective, heartfelt tone as it follows their daily duties, communal activism, and the quiet unfolding of affection amid a search for identity.
