Synopsis

The narrative follows Tao Yao, Mo Ya, and Childe Liu as they travel through JingShi and encounter events that prompt personal growth. Interactions—such as Tao Yao’s bond with Ding Sansi, Old Zhang offering Childe Liu guidance on errors in life and culinary craft, and Mo Ya’s confrontation with Xi Nang—serve as moments of maturation. At the same time, figures like Feng Wule and Chen Baishui, among others, work through their own forms of reconciliation. The story implies that the distances between people, and between humans and fairies, may be narrower than presumed, and that individuals can shape one another’s journeys across the varied experiences of life.
