Synopsis

After losing his parents in middle school, Inaba Yuushi has lived with relatives who treated him with obligation rather than warmth. Hoping for a fresh start, he plans to move into a high school dormitory, but the dormitory is destroyed by fire before he can arrive. With little money and unwilling to remain with his distant relatives, Yuushi struggles to secure a place to live. He eventually discovers a room in an old, inviting building that seems almost too fortunate. The building turns out to be a Monster House, where humans share the space with various supernatural entities such as ghosts and mononoke. Among the residents is Akine, another high school student who remains composed in the presence of these beings and possesses the ability to exorcise hostile spirits. Yuushi’s attempt at a normal high school life becomes entangled with the unusual coexistence and challenges of living in a house filled with otherworldly occupants.
