Synopsis

Set in nineteenth-century Scotland, Lydia Carlton ekes out a living as a practitioner who treats affairs involving fairies, one of the few humans able to perceive and converse with them — a gift met with disbelief by those around her. Her expertise draws the attention of Edgar, a man who requires deep knowledge of fairy traditions. After he intervenes to free her, Lydia enters his service as a specialist consultant. Edgar bears his own mysteries and complex emotions while presenting himself as the Blue Knight's Earl, and their uneasy partnership becomes shaped by hidden pasts, unspoken feelings, and the tensions between the visible world and the realm of fairies.
