Synopsis

One morning Nobita becomes aware of unusual occurrences on the Moon and claims to his classmates that the Moon Rabbit is responsible, but no one accepts his claim. To demonstrate, he imitates rabbits by making ricecakes, which leads to an accident with his teacher and a resulting punishment. Nobita explains the situation to Doraemon, who reluctantly uses a gadget called the Divergent View Badge to reproduce Moonlike conditions. With the help of animal clay they fashion a creature named Moonbit and bring it back home. Later, while gathering susuki grass for the Moon Viewing Ceremony at his mother's request, Nobita notices a boy and calls out to him, but the boy vanishes suddenly. The following day a new transfer student named Luca arrives, and Nobita is startled to realize this newcomer is the same boy he saw the previous evening.
