Synopsis

A vast virtual realm called the Digital World was shaped by the contemporary network and overseen by a central host system, Yggdrasil. From that environment emerged digital life forms known as Digimon. Over time, Yggdrasil developed a fear-driven protocol, the X Program, intended to purge existing Digimon communities and rebuild the Digital World populated only by select new beings. Against this backdrop, a novel class of Digimon called X-Digimon appears. Pursued by the Royal Knights—guardians charged with maintaining order across the Digital World—this X-Digimon confronts an existential threat as Yggdrasil moves to activate Project Ark, a plan to renew the network by sacrificing the majority of current digital life to generate new Digimon. As the X-Digimon seeks understanding of its own origin and strives to defend other Digimon, its actions set off changes that will reshape the Digital World and bring about its greatest crisis to date.
