Synopsis

In a near-future society where augmented reality is deeply integrated into everyday life, Yuuko "Yasako" Okonogi, a mild-mannered middle schooler, and her family relocate to Daikoku City amid rumors of people vanishing. Her grandmother, known as "Mega-baa," operates Megasia, a shop that deals in illicit devices interacting with the virtual realm. Mega-baa also runs an informal detective collective called Coil, comprised of children around Yasako’s age who investigate and confront breaches and corruption within virtual systems. Yasako becomes involved after Fumie Hashimoto, a spirited Coil member, aids in recovering Yasako’s cyberdog Densuke, which became trapped while pursuing a strange virus. Another figure investigating these incidents is a sharp-edged hacker, Yuuko Amasawa — nicknamed Isako by the group. Together, Coil pursues the origins of the viruses and the virtual corruption, facing difficult choices as they seek the truth.
