Synopsis

Centuries after the legendary blacksmith Adin created a belt set with seven gems—each representing one of Deltora’s tribes—and used it to repel the Shadow Lord, the realm has grown complacent and distant from its rulers. The Shadow Lord reemerges, shattering the Belt of Deltora and scattering its gems throughout the land. As the invader seizes the throne, Jarred helps the young king Endon and his wife flee, and in the ensuing years Endon’s line remains in hiding under the Shadow Lord’s oppressive rule. Jarred’s son Lief, raised and trained for a singular purpose, becomes the hope for the kingdom: to locate the dispersed stones and restore the Belt. Joined by the steadfast Barda and the resourceful Jasmine, Lief undertakes a perilous journey across Deltora, confronting cunning foes and hazardous creatures as he seeks to reunite the gems and challenge the Shadow Lord’s tyranny.
