Synopsis

Set in Paris during the 1800s, a small metalworking atelier in a covered shopping arcade becomes the site of an unexpected household change when the elderly grandfather returns with a young Japanese girl. The workshop’s younger artisan initially resists the arrangement, but accepts that the girl will live and serve there. Faced with unfamiliar customs and habits, he must juggle the responsibilities of running the shop and caring for his new housemate. As she adapts to life in the atelier as a resident maid, his reluctance gradually shifts toward a desire to learn about her origins and the very different society she left behind, fostering a slow development of mutual understanding without divulging future events.
