Synopsis

A spirit condemned at a liminal station is unexpectedly offered a reprieve: inhabit the body of Makoto Kobayashi, a 14-year-old who recently ended his life, and determine the boy’s principal transgression before a six-month deadline. Initially resistant to resuming existence as Makoto, the occupying soul gradually observes and contends with the tangled emotions and motivations of those around him. The narrative examines broken family bonds and the complexities of suicide, portraying the quiet, difficult struggles people endure but rarely face directly. The tone remains contemplative and somber as the spirit navigates memory, responsibility, and the everyday challenges that reveal deeper human vulnerability.
