Synopsis

Yoriko Kusumoto, a dreamy schoolgirl, is devoted to her friend Kanako Yuzuki. Their planned summer outing ends in tragedy when Kanako is found gravely injured on train tracks and Yoriko is discovered distraught on the platform. Shuutarou Kiba, a detective who was aboard the train involved in the incident, begins investigating and uncovers a web of deception tied to the Yuzuki family, particularly Youko Yuzuki, a celebrated actress and Kanako’s sister. Kanako survives surgery but remains critically ill; Youko places her in the care of Dr. Koushirou Mimasaka at a secluded, boxlike medical facility in the woods for experimental treatment. After a visit by Kiba and Yoriko, Kanako disappears without explanation. The case deepens when mutilated remains of young girls are discovered packed in boxes, suggesting a connection to both Kanako’s vanishing and the Yuzuki family’s hidden truths. With pressure mounting, Kiba, aided by colleagues Tatsumi Sekiguchi and Akihiko Chuuzenji, must unravel the series of crimes and locate Kanako while confronting layers of deceit and unsettling revelations.
