Boruto Uzumaki, the son of the Seventh Hokage Naruto, is a talented young shinobi whose bold temperament echoes his father's. Naruto’s frequent duties as Hokage leave him often unavailable, which diminishes Boruto’s confidence. When Boruto learns Naruto will observe candidates in the upcoming Chunin exams, he resolves to earn his father’s notice and asks Sasuke Uchiha—Naruto’s longtime friend and rival—for guidance. The Chunin exams commence without incident until an unexpected attacker assaults Konohagakure, endangering the village’s fragile peace. Faced with a genuine threat, Naruto and his allies must unite to defend their home and confront the menace. Through these events, Boruto begins to understand the burdens Naruto once carried and gains insight into the true responsibilities and hardships of being a ninja.
