Synopsis

Tanaka enrolls at Kakegawa High aiming to follow in the footsteps of Yoshiharu Kubo, whose exceptional play secured a tournament upset. As a freshman, he expects to join the soccer club and train under Kubo, but his plans unravel: the captain is absent due to illness, first-year players are barred from practicing with upperclassmen or earning starting roles, and his former junior-high teammates Kenji Shiraishi and Kazuhiro Hiramatsu have both stepped away from the sport for personal reasons. Once a formidable trio, Tanaka now faces isolation and dwindling hope. A chance reunion with Kazumi Endo, a girl he knew in childhood, shifts the situation—Kazumi, disappointed by the split of the old group, takes initiative in her own spirited manner to try to bring the three back together. Her intervention offers Tanaka a new path forward as his high school soccer journey begins.
