Synopsis

In a near-future Germany, deadly cybernetic creatures called Amalgams emerge from decaying flesh and merge with technology to gain new capabilities, leaving devastation in their path. To contain this menace, the Xenogenesis Assault Team (XAT) is established to defend civilians and investigate a troubling subset of Amalgams: humans who have become amalgamated yet retain rational thought, making them far more dangerous than mindless forms. Joseph Jobson is one such rational amalgam who masters his altered abilities and operates as a solitary fighter. After a confrontation with a newly transformed Amalgam named Gerd Frentzen draws the attention of XAT, Joseph becomes a priority target. While avoiding capture and seeking allies, Joseph is changed into the Blassreiter, regarded as the strongest known Amalgam. Armed with unprecedented power, he confronts enemies and searches for answers about his own history and the origins of the wider Amalgam crisis.
