Synopsis

Black Jack operates outside official channels as an unlicensed surgeon whose history is shrouded in mystery. Accompanied by Pinoko, a small attendant who harbors deep affection for him, he takes on medical cases that are uncommon, hazardous, or poorly understood. Renowned among medical and scientific circles, he applies exceptional skill to rescue patients when they can pay for his services. Though fundamentally a man of science who relies on empirical proof, he frequently encounters situations where human emotion and the forces of nature challenge and transcend his rational expectations.
