HMV lists that the DVD & Blu-ray volume 7 of Ookiku Furikabutte ~Natsu no Taikai Hen~ will contain an unaired installment labeled episode 12.5. Director Mizushima explained on his blog that this special was produced because the scenes from the manga that occur between television episodes 12 and 13 could not be accommodated within the broadcast run, so the additional episode recreates those intervening events.
