Synopsis

When Shoutarou Tatewaki first encounters Sakurako Kujou, he quickly realizes his routine life will change. At first he suspects her connection to a local disappearance, but he soon discovers her real skill: expert examination of bones. Sakurako maintains an extensive array of restored animal skeletons and privately yearns for human remains, much to the discomfort of those nearby. Shoutarou begins to accompany this unconventional osteologist as she investigates numerous unresolved incidents, often involving bodies in various stages of decay. As they confront recurring cases around them, the pair face the possibility of a broader enigma influencing their circumstances. This narrative follows two mismatched collaborators who demonstrate that skeletal evidence can reveal causes of death, while human interactions reveal how lives were lived.
