Synopsis

Baki Hanma, long accustomed to being called the nation's most powerful youth, drifts through his days unchallenged and uninspired. After resolving his deep conflict with his fearsome father, he defends his standing in underground matches with little more than routine effort, while his peers and teachers likewise carry out remarkable training with muted zeal. The balance shifts when a scientific project yields a clone of the legendary samurai Musashi Miyamoto. Enthralled by the chance to test himself against contemporary warriors, the resurrected swordsman pursues confrontations with Baki and other prominent fighters in Tokyo, but he has difficulty adapting to modern society. Anchored to an older code that favors honor-bound, lethal duels, Musashi's approach collides with the present-day peace. As he carves a path through Baki's circle to assert himself, he provokes a determined response from the young combatant, who welcomes the renewed intensity and meets the threat directly.
