Synopsis

Rachel Gardner, hollow and indifferent, awakens in a basement with no recollection of how she arrived and a pervasive wish to die. In the darkness she encounters Zack, a heavily bandaged man and fugitive who plans to kill her once he regains freedom. Bound by circumstance, they begin to climb the building together, ascending through floors that each present a new antagonist. As they move upward, they encounter increasingly warped individuals who appear to recognize Rachel, raising questions about her ties to the structure and the reasons for her confinement. Confronted with a succession of floor bosses and the mystery surrounding Rachel’s past, both she and Zack must confront their desires and decide whether either can reach the resolution they seek.
