Synopsis

In a bleak, dreamlike landscape stripped of ordinary daily life, unsettling phenomena populate the environment: levitating spheres holding goddess-like statues, immense unmanned tanks, lines of fishermen pursuing the silhouettes of absent fish, and caverns filled only with glass vessels of water. Amid this deteriorated world, a young girl tends to a large egg while foraging for sustenance. She crosses paths with a mysterious man who carries a cross on his shoulder; his curiosity about her and the egg prompts them to travel the ruined terrain together. Their journey through the fragmented setting becomes a quiet, contemplative exchange in which they probe questions about belief, the meaning of the world, and the roots of their own existence.
