Synopsis

Akane Ousaki grew up captivated by her father Tooru’s rakugo performances, secretly observing and imitating him from childhood. Tooru’s bid for promotion to shinuchi hinges on an evaluative performance before a senior master, Issho Arakawa, but following the exam he is expelled from the rakugo school. Disillusioned, Tooru abandons rakugo and takes an ordinary job, leaving Akane devastated. Driven by sorrow and resentment toward those who dismissed her father’s approach, Akane resolves to restore his honor. She asks Tooru’s former master, Shiguma Arakawa, for guidance, but Shiguma hesitates due to lingering guilt over events from six years earlier. To determine whether she belongs in the rakugo community, Shiguma challenges Akane to demonstrate her commitment by performing before an audience, testing her resolve and readiness to pursue the demanding path toward the top rank.
